Why choose a Celebrant and what can a Celebrant do for you?

Updated: May 1, 2023

Do you know what a celebrant does? Do you know why you might want a celebrant to officiate your wedding ceremony, baby naming ceremony or vow renewals?

Here are some reasons why you should consider a celebrant to help you create a unique ceremony.

You can be totally flexible where your ceremony is going to be if you choose a celebrant to officiate your wedding ceremony. It can be anywhere you want it to be!

It can be a place that has a special meaning to you for example. You can choose a beautiful beach, a gorgeous garden or an outdoor art gallery. You might want to choose a small intimate venue that can accommodate you and your nearest with your celebrant officiating the ceremony for an elopement- absolutely special, unique and bespoke to you. What about a ceremony in a marquee on the headland, overlooking the sea?

Remember it is your choice where you want your wedding ceremony to be. You can have you bespoke ceremony ANYWHERE you like.

You can be totally flexible where you want your ceremony to be as well as what you want your ceremony to feel like!!!!

Having a registry office wedding does not allow for personal vows. You have to use the legal vows prescribed-about 50 words. This is not really reflecting what you might like to say on your special day during your ceremony.

Having a celebrant led ceremony will allow you to write and use your own personal vows and readings, which have a special meaning to you if you like. Choosing special vows, read out by you or your celebrant, can be very moving and will imprint your personal touch onto your ceremony. You and your partner can become creative and you might want to use readings or poems you have written yourself, if you like.

Imagine that you can choose one or more symbolic rituals which will reflect your relationship. Having a celebrant led ceremony will allow you to have a ring blessing to give every guest a chance to bestow their blessing and positive thoughts towards your marriage.

Choosing symbolic rituals like sand ceremony symbolising the coming together of the families, eco-friendly tree planting ceremony, creating a time capsule together, lighting a unity candle or the ancient Celtic practice of a hand tying, literally tying the knot or jumping the broom which represents a brushing away of the past can give your ceremony a truly personal touch.

Or you and your partner can become creative and you can think of your own personal symbolic ritual to reflect your special relationship like a time capsule.

Having a celebrant led ceremony would also allow you to have other members of the family play an important part during your ceremony.

You can involve your children in the ceremony and this can give your ceremony a truly personal touch. They can be part of the sand ceremony or help with the creation of the time capsule, or the tree planting.

Or you and your partner can be very creative.

For a pawfect ceremony you can have your dog be the ring bearer. Dogs would be the pawfect addition to a truly unique ceremony. Your dog can walk the bride down the aisle. How special would that be?

Why not arrive at the ceremony on horseback? I am horsey myself and I think it would be fantastic to see you riding into the ceremony. You can make an entry by arriving in a horse drawn cart for a very special effect. As your celebrant I will help you to give your ceremony THAT SPECIAL feeling.

Together we will create the most amazing ceremony you are dreaming off, despite all the setbacks of the recent restrictions.
